Indonesian Arabica Coffee Beans

Kopi Arabika Gayo
Character: Clean, Spicy, and Balanced

1. Gayo Arabica Coffee (Aceh)

Grown in the cool Gayo highlands, this coffee is the star of Indonesian exports. Arabika Gayo has a thick body with low acidity, making it gentle on the stomach. Its flavor profile is very clean, blending touches of exotic spices with a comforting chocolate aroma. A perfect choice for coffee lovers seeking firmness and comfort in one cup.

Kopi Toraja
Character: Elegant, Layered, and Fragrant

2. Toraja Coffee (Sulawesi)

Originating from the volcanic mountains of Tana Toraja, this coffee offers an extraordinary harmony of flavors. An elegant combination of dark chocolate, herbal, and soft floral notes creates a layered taste profile. Its balanced acidity makes Toraja a coffee with a graceful and unforgettable taste in every brew.

Kopi Sumatra Mandailing
Character: Strong, Earthy, and Exotic

3. Sumatra Mandailing Coffee

A masterpiece of strong character that has become legendary globally. Mandailing coffee presents a thick syrupy texture and a very full body. The dominance of earthy aromas, combined with traces of spice, cedar, and dark chocolate, makes it very exotic. Ideal for those who love bold, steady, and daring coffee profiles.

Kopi Java Preanger
Character: Sweet, Bright, and Historical

4. Java Preanger Coffee (West Java)

Carrying historical value as one of the first world-renowned coffees from the Archipelago, Java Preanger offers a sensation different from other Indonesian coffees. This coffee has a sweet flavor profile with a refreshing bright acidity. Fruity aromas (like blueberry or citrus) and floral notes make it very elegant, light, and aromatic.

Kopi Kintamani
Character: Refreshing, Citrus, and Light

5. Kintamani Coffee (Bali)

Grown around Mount Batur adjacent to orange plantations through the traditional Subak Abian system. This environment provides a unique influence; Kintamani is very refreshing with a dominance of citrus (bright orange) aroma, a light body, and absolutely no trace of earthy taste. Highly recommended for manual brew methods.

Kopi Lintong
Character: Complex, Dynamic, and Fresh

6. Lintong Coffee (North Sumatra)

Thriving in the highlands around the charm of Lake Toba, Lintong coffee stands out with a unique profile. This coffee has a brighter and fresher acidity compared to Mandailing, yet maintains a fairly thick texture. A blend of cedar wood, fresh herbal, and Nusantara spice aromas provides a very complex and dynamic taste sensation on the palate.

Botanical Scent

Pure Essence Oil

Natural oils that are volatile at room temperature (volatile/ethereal oils). Used as high-quality raw materials for aromatherapy, cosmetics, perfumes, and natural food and beverage flavorings.

Essential Oil

Essential oils are volatile oils at room temperature, obtained from plant tissues (leaves, bark, flowers, roots, etc.) through the steam distillation process.

Distillation Methods

Water Distillation

The raw material is completely immersed in water which is then boiled directly.

Steam Distillation

Pure high-pressure steam is passed through the plant material to carry the volatile essences.

Water & Steam Distillation

Plant material is supported above boiling water, being treated by both water vapor and direct steam.

Steam Distillation Process Diagram

Steam Distillation

1. Steam Generation

Water Heating: Water is heated in the first container (boiler) using a fire source until it boils and turns into steam.

Steam Flow: The hot steam is then channeled through a pipe to the second tank containing the plant raw material.

2. Distillation Process in the Material Tank

Oil Molecule Extraction: Hot steam enters the bottom of the tank and passes through the interstices of the plant material (such as leaves, wood, or seeds).

Oil Evaporation: Heat from the steam causes the essential oil contained in the plant tissue to evaporate because of its volatile nature at room and distillation temperatures.

Vapor Mixture: The end result is a mixture of water vapor and essential oil vapor (Vaporised water and essential oils) that rises to the top of the tank.

3. Condensation (Cooling)

Mixture Cooling: The hot vapor mixture is channeled into a cooler (condenser) in the form of a coil or pipe surrounded by cold water.

Change of State: Due to cooling, the vapor condenses back into a liquid state, which is now a mixture of water and essential oil. In this process, the cooling water that absorbs heat will come out as hot water.

4. Final Separation

Separation Based on Density: The condensation liquid is channeled to a separator container. Because essential oil and water do not mix and have different specific gravities, the oil will separate naturally (usually floating on water) and is ready to be collected as the final product.
